Plot[]

Surprised to hear her answer, Rock stumbles back against a locker as Yukio Washimine tells him that he is her enemy. Rock is confused, so she informs him that she is now the 14th head of the Washimine Group, making him angry. He asks her if she thought about the fact that the criminal world is full of scum who will gladly kill each other, but Yukio ignores his passion and asks him again why he is there. He repeats that he does not want her to be dragged into the criminal world. Beginning to explain her story, Yukio relays to him that her father and the Kōsa Council's previous head were great friends and treated her mother well, but five years ago, the Kōsa-Kai's head died and his brother Masami Kōsa, who hated his own brother and the Washimines, became the new head. The Washimine Group was then given a new successor and the Group was driven to the point where things became hard to maintain.

Yukio then claims that Bandō saved the group albeit by dishonorable means in prostitution and drug dealing, which her father had disliked. In response to Bandō maintaining the Washimine Group, the Kōsa Council demanded the lower-ranking Washimine Group to make a direct descendant the group's successor or else the Kōsa Council would choose a boss for them. To counter their request, Bandō decided to seek out Hotel Moscow's help, which Yukio comments was a grave mistake since Bandō did not realize the savageness and true evil of Balalaika and the global Russian crime syndicate. Knowing that Bandō resorted to an attempt to assassinate Balalaika when her actions went too far for him, Yukio states that Rock probably witnessed his death. Continuing to grasp the jacket that Rock gave her to cover herself, Yukio says that she felt obligated to salvage her family's organization, reminding Rock that her group was required by Masami to have a blood-related successor.

Yelling in anger, Rock tells her that she had no obligation and that Bandō and Ginji did not ask her to succeed her father, telling Yukio that she should be blaming the Kōsa Council. Although Yukio agrees that she can blame them, she then claims that she will be no different than Balalaika if she resorted to killing instead of keeping her duty and honor. Calming down, Rock responds that he views her excuse as forcing responsibility onto herself. Recalling the quote she told Rock about humans being dice, she tells him that she chose her own path and wanted to honor her father. Crying, Yukio retorts back that Rock can only say his opinions since he is in a twilight between both worlds. She also elaborates that she had no choice but to fight for someone's life since they depended on her, adding that she could not withstand the decision to stand by and not take up the burden onto her shoulders.

Again reminding Rock about his previous words, Yukio asks him why he stepped into the criminal world despite knowing about its inhumanity. To his surprise, she deduces that he likely entered the underworld because he was looking for something that he did not have in his old Japanese life, but he did not totally submerge himself in either world and is in the middle. Continuing to shed tears, Yukio tells Rock that he can truly save her if he also saves the other Washimine members who would have no place without the yakuza group, but she knows that he cannot do that and thus does not really want to save her. Slightly smiling, she tells him that he likely does not want her to die since he would lose his last memories of Japan, leaving him speechless as she then angrily asks him how he can possibly judge her from his twilight perspective. Resting her head back against the wall, the lamenting Yukio admits that she wanted a normal life just as he did.

Rock tries to console her, but she orders him to stay away, concluding that her frustration only exacerbates her hatred of him. Elsewhere in the sports building, Ginji continues drowning Chaka in the pool as Revy watches the gangster breath his last breath. Ginji sheathes his sword and prepares to find Yukio, but the impressed Revy requests that he demonstrates his bullet-cutting ability a second time with her Cutlass pistol. As she reaches for her gun, Ginji swings his scabbard backward against her hand, advising her that he owes her a favor for saving Yukio and should not spoil it. Grinning, he says that she will be unlucky if they meet again in the future. Afterward, the four of them leave the bowling alley, and Yukio thanks Rock but warns him that she and Ginji will kill him if she sees him again. Meanwhile on the Marya Zaleska, Boris wonders where Rock could possibly be, but Balalaika is not concerned and orders her men to begin their surprise attack on the Washimine Group's office and hideouts at 07:50 hours.
