Yoshida (吉田) was one of the enforcers of the Washimine Group.

Appearance[]

Yoshida was an adult Japanese man with a skinny build and pale skin. He had short black hair styled into a punch perm, and he wore tinted glasses and a grayish-blue suit with dark vertical stripes.

Personality[]

He always had a fierce drive as well as rage towards those who would endanger the Washimine Group. Yoshida had undying devotion to the clan as demonstrated the last time that he saw Bandō alive and walking away to his own doom, in addition to trying to save Yukio from Chaka. He tended to be loud with his speech and was likely to tear-up due to turmoil in the group.

History[]

Fujiyama Gangsta Paradise[]

Yoshida was very loyal to Tsugio Bandō and referred to him as an older brother. Yoshida was usually seen as a bodyguard for Bandō, and later Yukio when she inherited the leadership of the Washimine Group. At the first meeting between Balalaika and Bandō when the latter sought an alliance with Hotel Moscow, Yoshida was shocked at Balalaika ordering an explosion at a Kōsa Council club nearby, whereas Bandō in contrast appreciated her action.[1] At the second meeting, both Yoshida and Bandō vehemently disagreed with Balalaika's proposition to abduct the head of the Kōsa Council, but they were interrupted by Chaka loudly answering his cellphone. As Chaka ended the call, Yoshida angrily ordered Chaka to keep quiet. Once the meeting adjourned and he and Bandō exited into the hallway, Yoshida saw Chaka beating up Rock, grabbing him aside and furiously berating Chaka for losing his temper and injuring their guest.

Later when the Russians continued to escalate their attacks, Yoshida called Bandō and relayed his concern to him, but the latter replied that he would deal with the matter. The next day, Bandō decided that he would try to kill Balalaika. As Bandō walked out of his place at sunset, Yoshida pleaded with him to revise his decision, but Bandō only gave Yoshida his wristwatch in response and advised him to get along with Ginji Matsuzaki, saddening Yoshida.[2] The next night, Yoshida visited Yukio's house and in tears told Ginji about Bandō's corpse being put into a suitcase and tossed in front of the Washimine Group office. Trying to console the grieving Yoshida, Ginji commented that Bandō was a strong man but too smart for his own good.[3]

When Yukio volunteered to become the Washimine Group's head upon Bandō's death, Yoshida drove her around Tokyo and commended her for sacrificing her student life to help their yakuza group combat the Kōsa Council. Sitting in the backseat, she began to cry a little, prompting Yoshida to politely ask her if he needed to pull over. Wiping away her tears, she politely declined and added that she needed to adapt to her new life. Thinking about earlier, Yukio thanked him for fervently rallying support for the young lady among the skeptical Washimine members, and Yoshida humbly replied that it was nothing. Afterward, he guided her back to her house, where they met Chaka with some street gangsters. He angrily asked Chaka why he was in the house, and Chaka decided to shoot him in the abdomen, fatally injuring him and terrifying Yukio. He immediately yelled at Yukio to run away in his final moments, which she tried but could not escape, and Chaka callously shot him several times and then abducted the woman. Later, Rock and Revy went to the house and came across Yoshida's body, and Ginji entered seconds later. Revy told Ginji they were not the ones who killed his associate, and the two temporarily declared a truce to rescue Yukio from Chaka.[4]
