El Baile de la muerte Part 30, also called Chapter 73, is the seventy-fourth chapter of the Black Lagoon manga. It was originally released in May 2009.
Summary[]
Shane Caxton warns Rock that he can sea-jack their boat if he is toying with them, but Rock assures him that Garcia Lovelace only wants to speak with him privately. Going on deck, Caxton sees Garcia, who returns the pistol to the soldier. The boy admits that he will never forgive Caxton for killing his father and saddening/angering Roberta regardless of his intentions, making Caxton remark that it seems like all more the reason to shoot him in revenge. Garcia states that he respects Caxton but criticizes him for walking down the path of murder just as Roberta did. Caxton then remembers the girl that he saved during the Vietnam War as Garcia calmly praises his values to save other people but criticizes using death to save others. Speaking about Roanapur, Garcia reminds Caxton that he certainly saw how Roanapur's criminals danced the same dance of death that he and Grey Fox has danced.
Showing the pistol again, Garcia concludes that he is returning the gun since he does not want to use violence to save Roberta, adding that taking revenge on Caxton would mean that the boy would be dancing the dance of death. Caxton asks if Roberta is still suffering, which Garcia confirms by comparing his own maid to a killing machine who is fueled by the thought of killing the U.S. soldiers. Garcia clarifies that he wants to pull Roberta out of the death dance by ironically using help from Caxton's death dancers. Staying silent, Caxton then asks the boy if he is sure that he approves that and jokes that his mission has been more peculiar than previous operations, taking Garcia's pistol and agreeing to help him save his maid. Afterward, Caxton returns to the inside and orders his men to listen to him because he wants their opinion.
In another part of the hold, Rock asks Fabiola where Garcia is, and she states that the boy and Caxton went into the soldiers' room without saying anything, surprising Rock. As he thinks about his gamble, Rock tells Fabiola that Garcia is trying to use Grey Fox in his plan to save Roberta, adding that the boy will need more traps to snap Roberta back into reality. Meanwhile, the soldiers understand Caxton's explanation and are hesitant, but Caxton replies that they will carry out Operation China Pit to capture Shue Yan. Burrows wonders if they can at least fight back against Roberta since she will pursue them, but Ray defends Caxton's decision by saying that they will fight for justice. Angered at Rock's proposition, Fabiola retorts back that they are not playing a game. Rock answers that they unfortunately cannot dispose of risks, recommending that she and Garcia direct the soldiers to help them out, smiling about the gamble.
On an airplane at a Thai airport, Roberta embarks and checks her seat number. As she sits down, Eda, dressed in a business outfit, jokes that Roberta could have at least taken a shower. Roberta immediately tries to elbow Eda, who counters her and locks her arm against hers, ordering the maid to quiet down since she is on her side. Eda reminds her that she is after the foxes and can help her chase them, handing an envelope to her and telling the maid that she has arranged for a direct travel to Grey Fox's destination ahead of their schedule. Roberta calms down and sarcastically thanks the "gringo," and Eda responds that does not care for her thanks so long as she enjoys the hunt. Accepting the envelope, Roberta tells Eda that she will kill her painlessly after her hunt is over.
